Waitress The Musical Review
Waitress The Musical Theatre Review at The Orchard Theatre in Dartford, Kent
‘Waitress’ is a musical comedy, based a charming, lovely-natured young woman, called Jenna, who has found herself trapped in an abusive marriage, looking for a way to escape and build herself a better future. With the help of her two faithful friends from work, along with the confidence boost she starts getting from a certain questionable local Doctor, she finds the self-belief she needs to start planning for a much brighter future.
Jenna is a waitress and her incredible pie-baking skills leads her to prepare to enter a local pie making competition, where the prize money will set her free from her marriage. Obviously, things don’t go according to plan and Jenna ends up missing the competition … and giving birth!
Don’t be mistaken by the back-story, this Musical is very funny right from the start, the lyrics and melodies are upbeat and highly entertaining, the drama between friends and lovers are so engaging and for a show which is 2hrs and 40 minutes (including interval) you find that you’re not able to take your eyes off the stage for a second.
You fall in love with the characters, even the cheating ones, which is why the audience end up so invested, willing them all to do so well and in the hope they run off into the sun-set together and live happily-ever-after… Easy as pie!
Mesmerising performances from all of the cast, both singing and acting abilities were outstanding and we urge you to go see this wonderful, funny show!
Waitress the musical is on at The Orchard Theatre in Dartford until Saturday 9th July 2022 and currently touring the UK. … DON’T MISS IT!!!!
