The Play That Goes Wrong at The Orchard Theatre in Dartford, Kent

The Play That Goes Wrong … Well, where do I start?! This is our absolute most favourite play, we have seen it three times now and it is still as funny as the first time! From the very beginning, there are nothing but comedic problems and the slap-stick just keeps on coming.

The poor Director, Chris Bean, wants nothing but the best for his murder mystery, ‘who-done-it’ play to unfold, but frustratingly for him there is no chance of the audience taking it seriously, the actor’s performances are dire, the set doesn’t hold up, even the tech guy is completely incompetent, which leaves nothing but stupidly-funny mishaps and the audience literally roaring with laughter from start to finish.

It is a little bit like watching a terrible school play, but so silly that even the most serious wouldn’t be able to not find this funny.

The real actors of this show are incredibly talented, to pull off the stunts and timing takes true talent and even though it is all about going wrong, if it had really gone wrong it just would not have worked!

Telling the tale of the Murder at Haversham Manor, brings many twists, but only because the actors can’t quite keep up … sometimes because they are juggling the props, sometimes due to losing consciousness! But the audience does not care, they are away from real life, laughing their heads off throughout. This is one very clever, incredibly amusing, piece of theatre that EVERYONE should go and see!
