This endearing David Walliams Story is brought to life right before your very eyes in this wonderful family stage production.

The story is about a boy who has everything, except for a true pal. His Dad has worked hard all his life and suddenly has come up with a huge money-making business … by making your bottom fresh!

'Bum Fresh' is such a success that it brings them billions, and with billions come the fastest cars, the yummiest food, the swaggiest clothes & and the poshest schools. Unfortunately Joe doesn't fit in with his private school peers, he has everything, he has plenty of people wanting to be friends for his money, but he doesn't have a true friend, so he makes the decision to enrol to the local comprehensive, where nobody knows who he is, in the search for a real buddy... much to his Dad's disbelief!

Enter Bob, a boy that also doesn't quite fit in either, but for complete opposite reasons to Joe. They both struggle, but they both have big hearts, so a friendship between them quickly develops, although life isn't easy when Joe's Dad thinks that the only way to get a true friendship is to pay for it...

David Walliams is an amazing author who touches the heart of millions of kids (and parents) and always has a powerful and thoughtful message to share and Billionaire Boy does exactly that.

My son is nearly seven years old, we go to the theatre a lot and he absolutely loves performing. He loves reading David Walliams books and is obsessed with Britain's Got Talent, so I knew he would be interested in every detail and was engrossed in every second from start to finish.

I would say it wouldn’t be ideal to take younger children, to me, I would say the show is suitable for children aged eight and above, the story moves quite quickly, so any younger and there is a little explanation to make, so the child can keep up, but saying this, if your child is used to seeing performances, then 6-7 years old would be ok too. Any younger, they may get fidgety.

If you love the illustrations of David’s books, then this show is great, it’s really quite exciting when you see the wonderful characters brought to life before you and the wonderful cast did it justice. You could not fault the performances and the characterisations and quick costume changes were seemless and genius.

David Walliams, who has been reported as selling more books than JK Rowling, apparently said after watching Billionaire Boy on stage “ I absolutely loved the show, it’s better than the book!”

If you love a family trip to the theatre, then whether you have read Billionaire Boy or not, I would definitely recommend going to see this wonderful show, we loved it and I am sure you will too!
