Pumpkin picking around Kent seems to be becoming more and more popular with families these days and we are no exception. Our little boy is five years old and we started our yearly mission when our boy was just three and cannot wait until it is time again this year.
We spend a good hour trailing through the fields, searching for our favourites. The largest one is obviously for our competitive lad and we are happy to settle for smaller ones, after all once we get home and start the carving, the competition is really between my husband & I. Our son gets a bit bored with us saying he can’t use the sharp knife and doesn’t really like scooping out the seeds either. So while he is off seeing to himself, the nitty gritty of who’s design is going to be best between us adults begins!
Although, we clearly get a little competitive, we all love wrapping up, wellies on and finding our perfect pumpkin so that we can finish our Halloween decorations. We also grab a couple of extras for the grandparents and friends ready for a crafty school holiday afternoon session.
Like when it is time to see Santa, we try to find a new location every time, just so it’s a new adventure for us all, which is why I thought I would put this Pumpkin Picking in Kent list of places that could be near you.
