Shrek Adventure! London - Family Review.

For family ventures, we love pretty much everything Disney-like related, so ever since 2015, when Shrek Adventure opened in London, we have been waiting for the time, we felt our boy was big enough to enjoy the adventure with us and hope that he was not going to get freaked out in anyway!

He's coming up for 6 years old & luckily, we took him at the most perfect time! Our family day out was for Mum, (me) Dad, our teen and our five year old and The magic of Dreamworks, the characters, the scenery and props, the storyline, every little detail was just perfect. Without trying to give too much away, the characters were brilliant, the costumes, accents and humour were perfectly fitting & entertaining for us all. We met a charming Princess Fiona, a very funny Fortune Teller, gorgeous Doris & the brilliant Muffin Man & Prison Guard, along with other fairytale visitors along the way!

We started our adventure on a 4d bus journey, which was just brilliant. Our little boy was in total awe of the journey & we all loved the story that was unfolding before us. This was just the beginning of the tour and a fabulous start it was too! From there we were led from room to room where we became a big part of the story, meeting many characters on the way, until the end where we got to meet our hero Shrek!

Shrek Adventure! London Top Tips:

Book your tickets online before you go, so you are guaranteed entrance.

The adventure lasts approx 70 minutes, but you may queue for some time before your journey begins, even with pre-booked tickets. (We pre-booked and queued for half an hour)

There are toilets at the beginning & end of the tour, but we didn't see any during the tour, so make sure you have a try before it begins! - (The website does state that if the kids are desperate an actor can guide you to the loo!)

There is wheel chair access throughout, but you have to park your child's buggy at the buggy park at the beginning of the tour.

There is a cloakroom you can use to store your coats etc, for a fee.

It's much cheaper to book your tickets and pay online before you go. On the door price starts from £27.50 (price correct 29/10/18) but pre-booked tickets are discounted online. Also, you can often get discount vouchers from various cereal boxes, sweet packets etc at the beginning of the year, so well worth doing as it can save you as much as half the price! - However, if you're looking to do a few things in London, you can also combine your ticket to include other attractions in London for a discounted price. These offers are available on the website.

Shreks Adventure! London is open every day (times vary, so please check the website for details) and is situated on the Southbank, entrance is next to the Coca-Cola London eye, so you really can't miss it, but in case you need it the address is: Shrek's Adventure, Riverside Building, County Hall, Westminster Bridge Road, London SE1 7PB.

Family Reviews:

5 1/2 year old: It was fun because there were lots of parts, my favourite thing was the 4d magic bus & I enjoyed the games and the photos at the end. It was so good because the whole family got to go, but I couldn't take my cat!

Dad: Great fun, I wouldn't take a child younger than 5, my best bit was the 4d bus ride. It's well worth going as part of a day out in London. It was great to see the kids faces as they met all the characters and it was funny enough for the parents too especially Pinocchio 🤥

Me (Mum): I can highly recommend for families from aged 5 & up. If you've experienced Disneyland and love the interactive rides, you'll love Shrek Adventure! London too. Watching the amazement on my boy's face throughout the whole experience has given me new memories I'll cherish forever & I love the fact that our teen loved it just as much too!
