What’s on in Kent this Halloween Half Term?

Yes, Half term for Kent is here again, this time it is Halloween 2020 and there are quite a few activities available both face to face and also virtual activities on offer too!

Below are a list of family days out around Kent, that bring you various activities and events for you all to get involved with.

Where’s Wally? Spooky Museum Search! at The Historic Dockyard, Chatham.

Families will be able search for Wally at The Historic Dockyard Chatham from Saturday, October 24 until Sunday, November 1 as part of the Where’s Wally? Spooky Museum Search, organised by Walker Books and Kids in Museums, to celebrate the release of the new book, Where’s Wally? Spooky Spotlight Search.

Bricks 4 Kidz - Onlline and Face to Face Activities

Bricks 4 Kidz are running both face to face and virtual Lego events for Halloween this October half term!

28th - 30th October - 3 day Lego face to face Camp in Kings Hill.

30th October at 2.30pm - Spooky online creative building eWorkshop via Zoom.

26th - 30th October - Brick Club Halloween Lego Mosaic activity packs that are sent out to kids to build and keep at home.

Lullingstone Castle.png

Halloween Pumpkin Carving at Lullingstone Castle – Saturday 31st October. 12 noon - 5pm

Join Lullingstone Castle for Halloween Pumpkin carving on the last day of the season, perfect for all the family. Fancy dress is welcome – let’s celebrate the end of our 15th anniversary of the garden in style!

Tables for Pumpkin carving will be social distanced and maximum of 3 children per table (only one adult per child to assist), all plastic carving tools will be cleaned before each re-use.

The Kids Creative - Hoo, 29th & 30th October 2020

The Kids Creative is run by Katie and Roz - two busy Mums and teachers. They have missed meeting up at groups and taking their children to fun activities so decided to set up their own Covid secure, inclusive learning workshops - with guided Art and sensory sessions for all.

The Kids Creatives have lots of lovely messy art, sensory play sessions on the 29th & 30th October 2020 in Hoo, Kent, which are suitable for children between the ages of 18 months to 6 years old. And you can find out more information and how to book by clicking here.

The Fairy's Tale 'Not So Scary' Halloween Experience - Maidstone, October 30th 2020

Visit The Fairy's Tale this Halloween and join them for a magical adventure.

Suitable for both boys and girls aged 3-8, entrance will be staggered in groups of six per session. On arrival you will be greeted by some witches and will join in with cauldron games and magic spells. This will follow with freaky fun in the green goblin's lair. Next trick or treat at the pamper room door and enjoy a Halloween makeover with face painting, glitter tattoo and hair styling by their Halloween fairies. Your adventure will finish with another door to trick or treat and a final flair of Halloween fun. The characters will be 'not so scary' and will aim not to scare or frighten the children. Lasts approx 1.5 hours.

Arts & Crafts - Arty Farty Retreat, Tunbridge Wells

Already half way the Autumn term! October is such a fun time of the year, the seasons have well and truly changed, the last of the harvests are being completed, everyone is starting to feel snuggly and of course spooky times!

Arty Farty have some great workshops for all ages to come and play creatively in a safe space. Because of the covid-19 guidelines they can only have 6 to 7 people or 3 families in each of our workshops, so book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Halloween Activities, 25th - 30th October 2020, Betteshanger Park, Deal

Betteshanger Park offers children from 8 to 14 years old the chance to experience BattleZone archery, mountain biking, forest adventures, orienteering, obstacle courses and geocaching. Also, back by popular demand is its Wild One’s Forest School aimed at children from 4 to 11 years old, and is filled with den building, campfires, marshmallow toasting and outdoor games. Halloween Themed Drive-in Cinema - 23rd Oct -1st Nov 2020, Betteshanger Park

Betteshanger Prk are bring you day to midnight showings of classic Halloween themed films including Scream, Hocus Pocus and The Exorcist.

Stuart O’Leary, Head of Betteshanger Park, commented: “We are thrilled to announce our Halloween drive-in cinema series with films to suit everyone. As always, we are committed to ensuring all guests have an excellent time with us whilst remaining safe and keeping their distance, which is why we continue to follow all Government COVID-19 safety guidelines.”

Halloween at Hever Castle, Edenbridge - 24th October - 1st November 2020

Don your best creepy costume for a pumpkin trail in the grounds (try and spot the unusual varieties) or keep your eye out for pumpkin masterpieces on display from Hever Castle staff.

Visitors have a chance to vote for their favourite with the winner of the most popular pumpkin announced at the end of Halloween at Hever.

Join in by sending in pictures of your pumpkin masterpieces with the chance to receive a treat (or a trick?!) on social media, using #HalloweenatHever by Friday 30th October 2020. Finish your visit off with a spooky treat from the restaurants onsite or grab a ghoulish gift from the Hever Shop.

Halloween Activities in Biddenden, 30th Ocotber 2020

Friday 30th October brings a day of frighteningly good fun to Biddenden Village Halls!

You will learn how to become zombies, ghoulies and ghosties and other frightening Halloween characters along with Halloween inspired games. Led by their dance tutor, you will learn a thrilling dance routine to THRILLER made famous by Micheal Jackson and from the hit Musical with the same name.

Their singing tutor will teach you the lyrics and how to sing the song. By the end of the day, you will be able to sing, dance and act all at the same time and put on an amazing performance!
