We had the honour of being invited down last night, to experience Gillingham’s, exciting indoor, electric Go-Karting Track and what a great evening we had!
We were first greeted by the lovely Cress and Rob, who were full of knowledge, passion and were extremely helpful, after grabbing a cola up in their café, both Adam and our 8 year old lad, Ted, got to skud about in their fabulous electric karts, around the track, in speeds of up to 45 mph, (which speeds were managed by staff, especially for the kids and whenever the Adults got a little too punchy!) and everyone had an awesome time.
The karts are adjustable, so even little legs can reach the pedals comfortably, (Junior Karts are suitable for children between 4ft 2″ to 5ft 3″ in height (127-160cm) and the Adult Karts are for anyone over 5ft (153cm) there is Protex Karting Barriers in place, so the kids can bounce off them quite safely and with a podium in place, ready to celebrate your wins, SOAR Electric Karting has everything needed for some safe, fast fun!
For children that aren’t as confident, but wanting to give it a try, there are speed limits in place, so once the Marshalls can see they are happy, the speed restriction can be lifted a little further. Same for the Adults, if they are not playing so nicely, their speed limit can be dropped until they play well again!
For any children who fancy joining a Karting club, there is the Junior’s League available, which is a programme that has been developed and is delivered by SOAR’s very own resident motorsport racer, the lovely Rob Oldland.
SOAR Electric Karting also offer 2 hour Children’s parties, which includes a Grand Prix style format, medals for the winner, podium celebrations for the winners, group photo opportunities, a party room and food for after their race. Parties are available from Wednesdays to Sundays.
And it doesn’t stop there! SOAR Electric Karting also offer Ladies only Karting sessions, Corporate Events and adult Grand Prix Sessions, so something for absolutely everyone!
We had a really great time, both Adam & Ted enjoyed every second, and Ted didn’t want to leave at the end, I couldn’t give it a go, as I currently have a painful frozen shoulder, otherwise I totally would have done as it looked so much fun.
Would we recommend SOAR Electric Karting??
ABSOLUTELY WE WOULD! Although adults and kids can’t race together, the venue was safe enough to let the kids get on with it, the staff were lovely, the karts seemed safe and the kids loved every second!
