Dinotropolis at Bluewater - Review

Dinotropolis - An Awesome Dinosaur Adventure Soft Play has Arrived at Bluewater!!

Whenever the school holidays approach, I start making plans to meet with my oldest pals & their children and because we live so far apart we normally try to meet half way, so are always keeping an ear out to find somewhere that’s suitable for the kids to play, which also ticks the boxes for us Mums. Somewhere the kids will love, where we can catch up properly and include some coffee and lunch too. So when we heard Dinotropolis at Bluewater had opened, we were delighted ... what we didn’t expect was how good this place actually would be!

The new Dinosaur themed soft play is ridiculously good! Our boys actually said it’s the best soft play they have ever been to and for us, it is totally obvious to see why.

Situated on the upper floor in Bluewater Shopping Centre, this amazing three level play jungle had so much to offer. The soft play consisted of ball pools, secret walls, tunnel slides, Dinosaur animatronics, fossil digging, a laser beam challenge and the amazing facility to bring your own personal Dinosaurs to life! ... The kids imaginations can literally run wild here!

If any Dad hates shopping, but the Mums are craving for some retail therapy then this is the easiest argument you will win! Let the Dad’s take the kids to Dinotropolis and you will get as much time as you need!! The only problem you have is trying to leave them there to have fun without you!

We spent quite a while here and we left when we did because we had run out of time, our boys did not want to leave and we will definitely be going back again soon to finish what we started.

There is a cafe, which serves breakfasts, children’s meals, sandwiches, pizza, paninis and most importantly coffee for those caffeine dependents like moi! Both our boys chose to eat Chicken Nuggets, Chips & Beans and thought it was delicious. Other children’s meals available to choose from are Fish Fingers or Pasta.

Both boys loved everything, but their favourite parts were bringing their Dinosaur drawings to life and the dark roomed, Laser Beam Challenge called Dino Escape. You had to crawl under and step over the lasers without touching them, you had five lives to get to the other side of the room, hit the alarm button and get back again. My friend’s son loved it, but thanks to my boy’s obsession with game shows, including The Crystal Maze, he loved it a little too much! His heart was absolutely pounding through his chest before he even got started! He took it so seriously and got himself quite emotionally involved, so I took him out for a while and went back to try again later. Thankfully he managed to complete his quest the second time, but needed some help from the lovely assistant there. He said “It frightened the life out of me!” ... It really did!

I can’t recommend Dinotropolis highly enough, it was secure enough that you could take your eyes off the kids for five minutes. The entrance & exit were in the same place and were locked so no one could come in or leave without the staff opening the doors, everything was easily accessible, parents could easily get to their children if need be, the activities were interesting and educational and there was so much to do.

Compared to other soft play, I do feel the price is a little high, for 2 adults & 2 children, including a meal for the little ones, you’re looking at around £50, but I have to say, I’ve never known a soft play to offer as much as here and everything was so well done that I would not hesitate to go back time & time again.

For me, to meet up with lovely friends, to allow the kids to play well, to have the option of getting involved myself, to have a spot of lunch and to spend time together is exactly what we look for in a venue and Dinotropolis ticks all of those boxes! - We will definitely return!

Thank you Dinotropolis, we had a fab time!
