"We believe in making childhood memories outdoors!"
"We know that play in the natural outdoor environment improves well-being. So, not only do we want to provide all children and young people with the skills to be successful learners for life but also we want to improve their well-being through our approach to play."
Currently, Little People, Big Ideas offer three age group sessions:
Bluebells - Infant & Parent group: Bluebells is an exciting and unique way of learning with infants in a safe woodland environment. It gives infants an opportunity to explore woodland and become confident in natural outdoor environments. In addition, Bluebells is a safe environment to rehearse care giving skills that will not only strengthen the bond between infant and caregiver but also support the development of the infant's emotional intelligence.
Ferns - 3-6 year Group: The Fern groups are for some of our younger Forest Schoolers; Pre-school (aged 3) to Year 1 (up to aged 6). Children who are ready to be explorers but may benefit from a familiar grown up nearby. (Although it is usually the grown ups that wish to be nearby!)
Yews - Healthy well being group aimed at all ages: Groups for Yew aim to use the woodland space to boost well-being from the young to the old. There is ample research that has been carried out that proves spending time in woods has a positive affect not only on our physical well-being but our psychological well-being also. In addition boosting our social well-being when time in the woodland is complimented by engaging with others.
Yew Family Group: This group offers the family fun experiences in the woodland. The sessions endorse the Forest School principles where families will have the opportunity to holistically 'flex' their physical, social, cognitive, linguistic, emotional and spiritual muscles. Families take part in wide games, trails, treasure hunts, arts and crafts as well as enjoying cooking a delicious snack over the campfire every session.
